Detailed imaging for comprehensive dental care
Full Mouth X-Rays
X-rays are a necessary part of the diagnostic process, and avoiding them could lead to undiagnosed disease. Without an X-ray of the entire tooth, root, and supporting bone and gum tissues, infection or pathology could go undetected for some time. Initial X-rays and periodontal evaluations will identify areas of dental decay, cracked teeth, and restorations that are no longer functioning properly. They will also provide our dentists a benchmark to check and compare future changes.
At Louscher Family Dentistry, we use digital radiography, which allows us to take X-rays using less than half the radiation required by conventional film X-rays. Coupled with computer monitoring and digital photography, digital X-ray technology allows us to enhance images for better diagnosis of any dental concern. In addition to reduced radiation, our digital radiographs provide clearer images, allowing for comprehensive dental assessments.
What to Expect at Your First Dental Visit to Louscher Family Dentistry
Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment
During your initial visit, we take the time to thoroughly assess your oral health with a complete periodontal evaluation, ensuring we understand your unique dental needs. Plan for at least 70 minutes during your first visit.
Full Mouth X-Rays
We’ll conduct full mouth X-rays to get a detailed view of your teeth and gums, helping us identify any issues and plan the best course of treatment.
Dental Health Goals
Our team will discuss your dental and overall health goals and review potential treatment options with you, ensuring that your dental care aligns with your personal objectives and expectations.
Financial Consultation
We’ll go over your financial options, including any estimated insurance coverage, so you can make informed decisions about your dental care with a clear understanding of costs.
Comprehensive gum health evaluation
Periodontal Measurements
Your gum health is just as important as the health of your teeth. During your visit, we’ll take a thorough look at your gums and measure the tissue depth around each tooth to make sure they are healthy. If we find evidence of gum disease (periodontal disease), we’ll provide you with a personalized treatment plan to help arrest the progression.
Providing you with the information and tools for lifelong oral health
Education and Preventative Care
Your dentist will talk to you about your current at-home oral health routine and go over proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing and flossing. They will also provide you with information about diet and lifestyle factors that could be affecting your oral health.
Tailored care for your smile
Personalized Treatment Plan
We will first present our overall findings from your evaluation and discuss your current oral health and future health goals. From there, we can put together a comprehensive list of recommended treatments to help you reach those goals.
