This mission has remained the same since Dr. Bert Louscher opened our Emmetsburg practice in 1965. And it is a mission that has continued to follow us through the expansion of our family-owned and operated business. From the addition of our Algona location to the onboarding of our next generation of dentists, including Dr. Bert Louscher’s nephew, Dr. Aaron M. Louscher, we work to give every patient who walks in our door the most beautiful smile possible.
Dr. Louscher
Dr. Aaron M. Louscher is a second-generation dentist who is carrying on the family tradition of providing exceptional oral health care, comfort, and collaboration. After graduating from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1999 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery, he joined forces with his father, Dr. Mike, at their thriving practice in Emmetsburg. Dr. Aaron also played a pivotal role in the Louscher Family Dentistry’s new state-of-the-art facility in 2007.
Dr. Aaron remains affiliated with the American Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association, and the North Central District of the IDA. With offices in Algona and Emmetsburg, he offers his patients the latest in dental care, from preventive treatments to advanced procedures.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Aaron is a dedicated community member and family man to his wife, Lisa, and their three kids. He enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, boating, and farming, and is also passionate about aviation. The Louschers are active in their local community, participating in various organizations, like the YMCA, and supporting the First United Methodist Church in Algona.

Dr. Brantner
Dr. Anthony (Tony) J. Brantner, a dedicated dentist with a passion for patient care, graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and joined Louscher Family Dentistry in 2012. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association, and the Delta Dental of Iowa Professional Advisory Group and has served as a past secretary and treasurer of the North Central District of the IDA.
Dr. Tony's commitment to his community extends beyond his dental practice. He volunteers for the Donated Dental Services program and Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa (Hawki), demonstrating his dedication to improving oral health in his area.
When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Tony enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Jamie, and their two children. He is a fitness enthusiast, an avid runner and golfer, and a passionate Iowa Hawkeyes fan.

Dr. Merideth
Dr. Matthew Merideth, a native of northwest Iowa, embarked on his dental career with a passion for providing exceptional care to his community. After earning his bachelor's degree in health and human physiology from the University of Iowa, he pursued his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of New England in Portland, Maine.
Upon graduation in 2018, Dr. Matthew returned home to begin practicing dentistry and serving his patients in Algona, Emmetsburg, and the surrounding areas. He offers a wide range of services, including restorative dentistry, tooth extractions, root canal therapy, crown and bridge treatments, dentures, and dental implants.
Dr. Matthew's dedication to his patients extends beyond his clinical skills. He is known for his gentle and personalized approach, ensuring that each patient feels comfortable and well cared for. Whether it is an emergency, restorative treatment, or cosmetic procedure, Dr. Matthew is committed to providing prompt, expert care that meets his patients' unique needs.
Beyond his dental practice, Dr. Matthew is an active community member. He serves on the board of Horizons Unlimited and volunteers his time to various dental initiatives. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, fishing, traveling with his wife, Anna, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Dr. Abigail (Abby) Thomas
Dr. Abigail (Abby) Thomas is a compassionate and dedicated general dentist committed to creating positive, comfortable experiences for patients of all ages. Originally from Humboldt, Iowa, she discovered her passion for healthcare and service early on, which ultimately guided her toward a career in dentistry.
Dr. Abby earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2025, where she developed a strong foundation in comprehensive, patient-centered care. She is passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles through preventive dentistry, restorative treatments, cosmetic services, and individualized care plans. Known for her gentle chairside manner and attention to detail, she strives to ensure every patient feels supported and at ease.
Committed to giving back, Dr. Abby has been involved in various volunteer and outreach initiatives, offering dental care and education to individuals and communities in need. She values the opportunity to serve others both inside and outside the clinic.
Outside of the dental office, Dr. Abby enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Drew, and their dog, Murphy. She loves spending time with friends and family- whether it’s to play games, watch sports, or enjoy the outdoors—especially summer days at the lake.
Dr. Darrian Ward
Dr. Darrian Ward grew up in Ankeny, Iowa, and has always been passionate about helping others through hands-on care and connection. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Northern Iowa in 2020, where he also minored in mental health studies and played on the rugby team. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2025.
Dr. Darrian provides care at both the Algona and Emmetsburg offices, offering a full range of dental services, including restorative therapy, crown and bridge work, cosmetic treatments, root canal therapy, tooth extractions, dentures, and implant restorations. He enjoys combining trusted techniques with the latest technology, such as digital scanners and lasers, to make every visit comfortable, efficient, and precise. As a member of the American Dental Association and the Iowa Dental Association, Dr. Darrian is committed to continually learning and providing his patients with the highest standard of care
In addition to his work in the office, Dr. Darrian volunteers with various dental initiatives to help expand access to oral health care in his community. He is also active in his local church, where he enjoys supporting outreach and service programs that make a difference for families in need.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Darrian enjoys playing pickleball and golf, watching football and basketball, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and Iowa State Cyclones. He loves spending time with his wife, Allison, and their dog, Ruger, and appreciates being part of such a welcoming and supportive community.
